Why We Exist.
Most optical stores treat glasses like a commodity. You walk in, pick from a wall of identical frames, and walk out with something that works but doesn't feel like you. We built Designing Eyes to be the opposite of that.
Every frame in our collection was chosen by hand. Every appointment is one-on-one. Every pair of glasses that leaves this boutique was fitted, adjusted, and styled with intention. We're not trying to be the fastest — we're trying to be the best experience you've ever had buying eyewear.

I am the temptress of luxury eyewear and the proud owner and licensed optician of Designing Eyes Optical Boutique, serving downtown Tampa since 1990.
Our boutique is filled with some of the eyewear industry's most exclusive, artistic, colorful, and unapologetically bold frames from independent luxury designers around the world. Each piece is carefully selected for its craftsmanship, individuality, and ability to make a statement.
We pair our distinctive eyewear with the latest lens technology to provide exceptional clarity, comfort, and vision. Our knowledgeable opticians take the time to understand each customer's lifestyle and visual needs, helping them select the perfect frames and lenses for every occasion.
Our passion for specialty eyewear has also made Designing Eyes one of Florida's leading providers of prescription and non-prescription safety glasses. Whether you visit us in-store or need on-site service, our team is here for you. We proudly fit Wiley X safety eyewear using advanced lens technology and some of the best warranties in the industry.

How We Work.
Curation Over Volume
We carry fewer frames than a big-box store — on purpose. Every piece in our collection earned its place. We travel to trade shows, work with independent designers, and say no to a lot so you can say yes to the right thing.
Time, Not Transactions
Our appointments run 60–90 minutes. That's not an accident. Finding the right frame takes conversation, context, and patience. We don't rush, and we don't upsell — we listen.
Fit as a Foundation
A beautiful frame that doesn't fit is just an expensive accessory. Every pair we sell is adjusted to your face — not the average face. We use precision tools and take the time to get it right.
